ds1621+and ds1821+ RAM upgrade using Arch Memory

The RAM arrived, the drives have been mounted (4 so far) and the RAM has been installed. I attached a nearly full 14T USB drive to the NAS and it is copying data at about 1T/hour. That’s at least a 35% savings in time. These drives are running about 15 degrees C cooler than they do in an external case. The load on the desktop is not noticeable; apparently the NAS has taken all of the copy work away from the desktop but I also added 16G RAM to the desktop.
Qs:

When I mount the other 2 drives, I will have 2 empty bays. What is the best investment, 2 more HDDs or 2 SSDs? It is my understanding that I will have give up a bay to use an SSD.

The RAM is from Arch and the URL for this chip is:
https://archmemory.com/32gb-260-pin-ddr4-2666-pc4-21300-ecc-sodimm-2rx8-ram-arch-memory/

The NAS has not given any indication that it objects to this chip and my total memory is 36G. Do you have any knowledge on testing?

Finally, any URL(s) for SSD articles you recommend?

If you want to us e HDD bays for SSD caching, you will need two of these to enable read +write cache. Single SSD allows only read cache option.

If you go for NVme caching, this article might be useful.
