Syonolgy DS1621+ NAS Uncovered

Small Hint Points at Synology DS1621+ NAS

If you are one of the many people who have been looking for a brand new Intel-powered mid-range 6-Bay NAS from the guys at Synology, your wait may well be over. Along with the reveal of the soon to be released Synology DS1621xs+ later in 2020, we are NASCompares have been alerted to license documents that pertain to a brand new Synology DS1621+ NAS. There is almost no solid information at this stage, however, it certainly looks concrete enough.

We are still awaiting confirmation on the CPU, but judging by the release history of this product series, we can certainly hope to see the next evolution of Intel Atom series processors (generally featured in this product family). But, at a guess, given the price point of this NAS and the CPU PCIe lanes to take into consideration, the C3558 / C3558R would be a long term solid choice by the brand, As it is a much more recent addition to the product family. But my IDEAL hope if it is an Atom would be on The Intel Atom C3758 8-core 2.2 GHz processor, or maybe a solid Pentium.

As mentioned, this is barely any real information to go on and there is no real credibility that this is going to be a full release. So, stay tuned to hear more about it soon and all the new things that are coming from Synology in their 2020/2021 series as they start to appear.
