QNAP TS-453A vs QNAP TS-453D
Currently own the TS-453A which got compromised with the QLocker Ransomeware. I am trying to reset system with QNAP support and they say I have a defective backplane and unable to reset. Parts/RMA on backorder wiith supply chain issues. Looking at just upgrading to a new QNAP TS-453D if I have to start from scratch. Enjoy y0ur NAS COMPARES YouTube channel immensely. Any insight/advise most welcome.

Yes, I would do the same thing. If the backplane starts to fail your RAID is constantly at risk.
The new 53D series are three times more powerful. It comes with faster RAM and CPU. You also get faster LAN ports (backwards compatible). The PCIe slot will allow you to upgrade it with 10GbE/ NVMe cache. And if you do use HDMI, the new models support 4K at 60HZ.
