Synology Surveillance Station. Hi there, just bought A Synology 4 bay NAS from you, is there a surveillance station alternative, trying to avoid paying for licences as i have 7 cameras at the moment.

Yes there are quite few open source solutions like:

ispyconnect
zoneminder
shinobi
kerberos

There is no easy way to install it – like an app in the store. But it can be done either by creating a virtual machine or even better a Docker.

Virtual Machine will look like a Windows or Linux was installed on the NAS. Whereas Docker container will create small virtual environment to run a simple app like WordPress or Surveillance system in this case.
