I’m going to buy the DS1618+ 4GB DDR4 I’m going to use 5 (WD4002FYYZ) WD 4TB Gold 7200 rpm HDDs in a raid 6 we have a gigabit Network I’m going to use Link aggregation my boss wants to know real world transfer rates
so I need to know individual computer transfer rates
and also with link aggregation combined multiple user transfer rates
the way we use the NAS is people download files to edit them and then they save them back to the NAS
and all files are accessed through the network
DS1618+ could go up to 2037.83 read and 624.25 write if filled with SSD and 10GbE card. But in your case, two drive redundancy will mean maximums transfer speed up to 300MB/s (with load balancing or link aggregation enabled). but the slowest thing in the chain will be your workstations. The maximum that card will be able to push through will be around 100MB/s (if your ethernet cables are not having interference or poor quality). You could get a USB dual LAN adapter to potentially double the transfer speed but next logical step would be a 10g upgrade if you need speeds greater then 100MB/s.
