How do I migrate my 4-bay NAS (TS-431) to a 3-bay NAS (TS-332X)?

There is no easy way to migrate to a smaller NAS. You will have to copy the data to a backup disk. Then move 3 drives into a 3 bay. Then reformat and reset the new NAS and copy the data back.

If you don’t have a backup drive, it is a good time to get one. You need to be protecting your data also from external disasters like fire and flood etc.
