Graphics card (GPU) for XPlane and new Microsoft flight sim

I have a Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R motherboard and I have just upgraded the CPU to a intel core i7 x990 which shows as 3.47Ghz with 12 cores and upgrading the RAM to 24Gb DDR3 1600Mhz.

I currently have 2 x Nvidia GeForce GT 610 graphic cards installed and I am running Win 10.

I can’t run XPlane at more than about 7FPS and I want to be able to run the new Microsoft flight sim when released.

Would new (secondhand) upgraded graphics cards improve frame rate or am I flogging a dead horse.

I read that X-Plane 11 X-Plane 11 Recommended Requirements are:
