Mesh extenders for staff who are working remotely

My boss wants me to recommend universal extenders with good reviews, 1200 mbs and mesh smart roaming that preferably are under $150. These would be used by our staff who are working remotely and likely will be for some time. Would the NetGear wifi mesh ex6100 be a good recommendation? What about the TP-Link Deco whole system? Thank you for any direction you can provide.

Less than $150

Depends on what you are trying to achieve.
WiFi extenders (mesh or not) simply extend your local network to cover dead zones. People working remotely from home can not connect via extenders.
But if all you need is local WiFi expansion then yes, the extender will be the cheapest option. TP-link and other brands will do the job.
But if you would get a mesh router system like MR2200ac then you would allow all employees to connect to your work network via an encrypted tunnel. By doing that, they will be able to see all other network computers, printers, network drives, and other network devices. They would feel like they are at work. Synology is giving away lifetime VPN licenses for everyone until September. Their mesh function will allow you to link several MR2200 together and will even give a LAN out option via WiFi and LAN backhaul for improved WiFi performance.

I hope this helps.
