QNAP ZFS?
Im looking seriously at a QNAP NAS that would support ZFS. I dont want to break the bank though. I am running a File/Media server and need to be able to transcode using hardware.
My current Dell Poweredge T320 doesnt have that ability.
I have looked at Synology but even the new 1819 box doesnt have hardware transcoding. It uses the Atom C series which from all I can tell doesnt have Intel iGPU.
I currently have 8x 4TB WD red drives but am looking to gain higher capacity drives. I will probably start at 4 drives since 4x 14TB drives is already ~$1600.
Here is a list of Qnap ZFS compatible NAS:

TS-h686
TS-h886
TS-h977XU-RP
TNS-h1083X
Most of the time you will find Xeon CPU or similar inside these NAS.
Even though these CPU do not support hardware transcoding, they are powerful enough to handed software transcoding even with 4K files.
