Full duplex and half duplex are terms used in telecommunications and networking to describe the directionality of data transmission between two devices. In full duplex communication, data can flow simultaneously in both directions, allowing for bi-directional communication at the same time. This means that devices can both send and receive data concurrently, similar to a two-way street where traffic can flow in both directions simultaneously. On the other hand, in half duplex communication, data can only flow in one direction at a time. Devices must take turns sending and receiving data, akin to a single-lane road where traffic can only move in one direction at any given moment, alternating between incoming and outgoing traffic. Full duplex communication typically offers higher throughput and faster data transfer rates compared to half duplex communication, as it enables simultaneous transmission and reception of data, facilitating more efficient communication between devices.

The table is slightly misleading, because everything is listed as FULL DUPLEX speed. You should note this in your article.
Ex: you are listing PCIe 1.x for single lane x1 at 5GT/sec. PCIe 1.x speed is actually 2.5 GT/sec write + 2.5 GT/sec read, for 5GT/sec combined total speed.
That said. if one puts a SATA PCIe 2.0 x1 adapter card or a USB 3.x PCIe 2.0 x1 card in one of these slots expecting near SATA III 600MB/sec speeds for reads and writes, you are not going to get it. You’ll be lucky if it is faster than a regular SATA hard disk. In fact, even with a PCIe 2.x USB 3.x card, regular SATA disks max out the bus.
Please beware that this is a COMBINED speed, do not expect full throughput for reads and writes, at even HALF of this combined speed, because of the communication overhead.
