I have a TS-451 with 16GB RAM.
It’s supposed to run with a maximum of 8GB, but others have managed more, so I did the same.
I wanted to install PLEX but newer versions apparently were no longer supported by QNAP.
Again, I went above and beyond and installed it via the Apps Center’s manual install option.
I downloaded the specific version for (QNAP – intel) from Plex’s website and it installed with no problems.
I’ve been updating it when newer versions are released.
I Currently have ‘PlexMediaServer-1.41.6.9685-d301f511a-x86_64.qpkg’ installed, which I recall was April 2025.
The only issue I have with PLEX on QNAP is it using memory and not releasing it properly, ie; “Leaking memory”
I assume this maybe one of the reasons why it’s no longer supported by QNAP.
It could be the QNAP unsupported additional RAM I’ve added too.
Anyway, PLEX logs should show what’s really going on (when I get around to checking it).
With the RAM problem, I just restart the NAS which resolves the problem for a week or so.
just removed “https” on the bar address and it will go through
Thank you for sharing.
Doesn’t work after recent update! Plex Media Server no longer operated on my QNAP NAS – Waisted my money on this NAS!
I would suggest uninstalling it. Download it directly from Plex and install it manually.
I just did exactly this. Latest build 1.32.7 manually installed right off Plex website. (I have an INTEL QNAP).
I try to open and the page just loads without end. Plex on all my local machines is unreachable.
It just started doing this all of a sudden on 1.30.0. Starting and stopping the app does not help, not sure what to do next.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

same…. this sucks…. totally unreachable. I updated to 1.32.7 and the server became unreachable. Cannot find it on my network or from outside the network (disable wifi on phone and try logging in with cell). restarted server a few times…. nothing.
Had the same issues, uninstalling and reinstalling Plex seems to have fixed it.
You need to setup your libraries again though 🙁
Needs to be a better way!
