Cheapest NAS for Hyper Backup Vault

Could you please advice me the least expensive synology NAS for running a hyper backup vault for a DS918+ 12TB its only gonna be used for that purpose. Just want to be sure that it can backup at a good speed, I don’t use encryption.

You can get DS119j. This will be the cheapest option. But I would get DS218+ to enjoy smooth work experience.

Thanks .. would the DS118, be a fine compromise ? as far as specs it should also run smooth I guess ?

Sure, DS118 will be quite fast backup option (as fast as single 1GbE can be – around 100MB/s ) for home.
