comparison DS1621xs+ vs DS1520+
although 2 different classes, it would be nice to compare the differences because shared form factor to decide if price difference would be worth
CPU is almost 3 times faster. Also, Xeon is not multimedia friendly, but it’s powerful enough to cope with even 4K files. XS series have ECC RAM with is safer than regular RAM. You can also have a bigger volume thanks to a more RAM and a better CPU.
The big difference is PCI slot and 10GbE support. DS1520+ has no support.
And finally, you can not mix different size drives on XS series NAS since it is seen as an enterprise-class model and supports only standard well know RAIDs.
