NAS for CCTV and 4K video streaming locally and remotely

I have watched your video comparing the 216+II and the 218+ and would really appreciate some advice. I am looking to set up a very basic home network and include some CCTV. I want to back up a couple of laptops and share 4k videos, lossless audio, photos etc. to my UHD TV, desktop pc and mobile devices. I would like to be able to access the files and CCTV on all equipment both at home and remotely. I believe the DS218play would be more than enough for my needs. However, I’ve managed to find a DS216+II for £85 and really need to know is it worth spending another £120 on the DS218Play? I’m new to this, so may be missing something!

With all these things running in the background the ds218play will struggle with its performance. Same with the ds216+.  I would even consider looking at ds718+. But it will cost quite a bit more. Therefore the ds218+ is a golden middle way. Its ds video app will cope with local and remote 4K playback as well as CCT recording and playback. You can also back up multiple computers and mobile devices.
