Recommendation on NAS for Plex and possibly VM.

Need help and recommendation from you on which Nas could accommodate Plex and possibly VM.

If you want something with a processor made for virtualization, then ds1618+ and ds1817+ will be a good choice in this price range. It will also allow you to run local Plex server. And also transcoding is possible up to a fullHD content.

DS1618+ is a 6 drive NAS. It is expandable to 10GbE or cache card. And it also is expandable up to 16 drives.

DS1817+ is a 6 drive NAS with a possible two drive redundancy option. It is also expandable to 10GbE or cache card. And it also is expandable up to 18 drives.

If you would want something really top of the range, then ds3617xs would be a NAS to go with. That will allow you to do 4k plex and also run virtual machines at great speed.
