Synology 10gbe slow network speeds

I have been watching a lot of your videos about upgrading to 10gbe network for the Synology 1618+. I purchased the Synology (E10G18-T1) card and a Aquantia (AQN-107) for an older desktop computer. I also purchased a NETGEAR Nighthawk S8000 8-Port Gigabit Smart Managed Plus Gaming Switch (GS808E), but the best transfer speeds I get is about 200/mbs just for a few seconds then it drops to 1gb levels of around 120-145mbs. I even tried removing the switch and connecting the Nas direct to my computer and it’s the same speed. It appears there is a bottleneck somewhere. I have adjusted the nic cards to Jumbo frames and downloaded the latest drivers but to no avail. Any suggestions?

 

NETGEAR Nighthawk S8000 is a Gigabit switch and therefore is not compatible with 10GbE setup.

When connecting directly to the NAS, make sure your PC has SSD or NVME SSD to achieve the best results. Otherwise your computer storage media is a bottleneck.
