Synology or QNAP? Which would be good should I want to use as media server (music primarily but possibly also video)

My recommendation for audio/video NAS

I would recommend getting TS-253A because it is best value for money NAS. It has quite powerful CPU to not just stream but also trans-code audio and video files. That could be handy when you want to access it over slow network or internet. It also has HDMI ports for connecting it directly to a TV or monitor. Beside that it also has audio in/out ports for direct playback to your amplifier or Alexa smart speaker ().
