MikroTik, a Latvian network equipment manufacturer, has unveiled a new addition to its line of 100 Gigabit switches – the CRS510-8XS-2XQ-IN. The new switch boasts a combination of two 100 Gigabit QSFP28 ports and eight 25 Gigabit SFP28 ports, making it a versatile fit for almost any server room or setup. The CRS510 also supports backward compatibility, allowing for seamless connectivity to devices using 40 Gigabit, 25 Gigabit, 10 Gigabit, and even older Gigabit connections.
Apart from its versatility, the CRS510 also promises impressive performance. It can handle VLANs, ACL, MLAG, Jumbo frames, and even some L3 hardware offloading, thanks to its Marvell Prestera switch chip. The switch is also designed to consume only up to 27W without attachments, making it energy efficient.
Measuring at 320 x 185 x 44 mm, the CRS510 comes equipped with a QCA9531 650 MHz CPU and 128 MB of RAM. It also features a console port, making it an essential tool for system administrators.
The CRS510 is powered by three DC inputs, including PoE-in, DC jack, and 2-pin terminal, and two AC inputs. It has a maximum power consumption of 45W and can operate within temperatures ranging from -40°C to +70°C.
The CRS510-8XS-2XQ-IN is the latest addition to MikroTik’s 100 Gigabit product family, which already includes the CRS504 and CRS518 switches. With its combination of ports and impressive performance, the CRS510 is expected to be a valuable addition to any network setup.
