Rackmount NAS for Plex. I’m wondering if there are any rackmount NAS with HDMI 2.0? If not, what is the best rackmount NAS that I can transcode 4K with using Plex?
You are probably interested in HDMI 2.0 because this is a requirement for 4K HDR streaming. But the answer is – none. There is no such rackmount NAS released, only desktop models. But double check your movie formats, because you might have normal 4K 8bit videos which will play back normally on regular HDMI connection.

If you want to transcode 4K on a plex, you need to look for either i7 nas or Xeon CPU NAS. These are only processors capable of transcoding 4K. For HDR transcoding you might even need to install powerful graphic card enabling hardware transcoding functionality.
