Qnap TS-653a (253a / 453a) compatible memory upgrade

I am aware that my unit comes with 8gs of memory,can I expand further to 16gs without harming my unit and if so what brand should I get for compatibility?

 

A maximum capacity is 2x8GB (16GB) of RAM. That is 8GB per slot. Qnap will not sell upgrade RAM, but I would suggest having a look at Crucial.
