4K surveillance and NAS

4K surveillance and NAS. I am looking for NAS and cameras for eight 4K camera surveillance systems that has plenty of storage for at least a couples of months. I am tired of running out of space on my off the shelf Swann 1080 surveillance systems and crappy software interfaces. I like the idea of a 10gb network because this is future and faster transfer speed and performance. I also have a SQL server that slows down with users demand processes sometimes and not sure if I should get a separate NAS for this SQL server or get a bigger NAS to take out of everything. I am also looking into getting NAS to playback movies on my iPad or iPhone and 4K tv.

In a multi-camera surveillance situation- Qnap will turn out to be a cheaper option. Synology will offer a better system with their new artificial intelligence mechanism but it will also cost more per camera. I would recommend TVS-882 or TVS-1282 from Qnap. It will let you house enough drives to store 2 months of 4K surveillance recordings. And the CPU will be powerful enough to transcode videos so that you can play these recordings even remotely. The added HDMI ports will allow you to turn this NAS into a Surveillance system with a monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
