Best 4-bay NAS for under 600 – Thecus, Qnap, Asustor

Looking at 4+ bay so I can move all my data over to the one NAS.
Life span of device before upgrading again is approx 5 years

Wishlist
Access as a mapped drive(s)
4k HDMI – I suspect 1.4 will be good enough
4 bay minimum
USB 3.0
Surveillance 4+ licence
Plex/Kodi options
Relatively quiet cooling
Upgradable RAM to 8GB+
Download station
Virtual Machine
Link aggregation

Nice to have but not essential
Additional SSD slots or bays
USB C connectivity
Remote
10Gbe

Current thinking is one of the NAS below but would appreciate your thoughts

Thecus N5810 4G £403 – really nice 5 bay will the CPU see it lagging behind others?
QNAP TS-451A 4G (discontinued i believe but still available at £459 or is the TS-453Be 2G at better choice at this £ anyway)
QNAP TS453-B 4G £589 – pretty tidy but pricey
QNAP TVS-951X 2G £756 – Love the idea and it ticks many boxes but is it worth the £££
Asustor AS6104T 2G £397 – Good value
Asustor AS6204T 4G £454 – Competitively priced
Asustor AS6404T 8G £538 – Nice spec but is the QNAP TS453-B 4G a more versatile option at this price?

Thecus user interface will disappoint you. Especially after using WD.

The 451A was a great NAS but is not supported anymore.

The 51X is a good solution for a business environment with multi-users accessibility- otherwise, overkill.

AS6104T – good choice, but slightly limited performance

AS6204T- very good candidate, but not ticking many boxes – connectivity-wise

AS6404T – probably the best choice for 4K videos, but again lacking connectivity

My choice is TS-453B or limited version of it – TS-453Be. It will tick pretty much every box. It also comes with PCIe slot for 10GbE and SSD cache upgrade in the future. It is the best selling Qnap this year for a good reason.
