We need a NAS for a workgroup of sixteen graphic designers. We need a server for a workgroup of sixteen graphic designers. They open and store large Photoshop and Illustrator files directly on the NAS server. We are currently using the QNAP TS-269L with two 2x8TB WD RED HDD on a 1gig lan. We’ve also purchased a switch with two sfp + 10gb ports. We need a tip for the future qnap device to get?

I would suggest getting TS-453B or TS653B and install only 2 drives. This will last you for a few years to come. It comes with free PCIe slot for 10GbE card upgrade. This will be very useful to connect your NAS to your switch with 10GbE. Then every workstation would get faster access to the storage. I would even get a dual 10GbE card, then link aggregate to the switch but that will cost little more. You will be also able to simply move your drives to your new NAS without reinstalling the system. If you want even better results to get WD Red Pro or SSD drives.
