NAS for NzB

First NAS

Having used a mac mini now of over 8 yrs it time to move this to a full NAS media storage setup.
I will be using this for 1080p Media using NzB etc and I’m not the most techie, can you share some advice, please

Synology NAS comes with a built in app called Download Station.

Download Station is a web-based download application which allows you to download files from the Internet through BT, FTP, HTTP, NZB, FlashGet, QQDL, and eMule, and subscribe to RSS feeds to keep you updated on the hottest or latest BT. It offers the auto unzip service to help you extract compressed files to your Synology NAS whenever files are downloaded. With Download Station, you can download files from multiple file hosting sites, and search for torrent files via system default search engines as well as self-added engines with the BT search function.

For multimedia streaming I would recommend to pick NAS with video-friendly CPU like Celeron. DS218+/ DS718+, DS418play and DS918+ is the most popular choice allowing people not only to stream locally but also over the internet while on the move. DS Video app will also allow you to download video to your phone, so transcoding option is not required. Then you can choose even cheaper models like DS118, DS218play and DS418.
