Scheduled recording of internet radio broadcast
I have been searching for a simple way to do scheduled recordings of audio streams from internet radio stations. I looked at Audio Station and found that it can connect to internet radio stations but didn’t seem to have a way to record streaming content. I looked at some Media Station packages but couldn’t find any that offered that capability. I was intrigued by your video of how to download podcasts, but couldn’t figure out how to get that to work for my application.
I also looked into using a Docker container app for this purpose, but didn’t find anything appropriate.
I thought I’d check to see if you had any thoughts on how to go about doing this. It would be great if Synology Audio Station allowed recording and scheduling, but I don’t know if that would be in Synology’s plans.
Any suggestions you might have would be appreciated.
You may be able to set it up using virtual machine or by accessing Linux back end of a Synology / Qnap NAS.
Here is a list of apps capable of recording audio: https://www.talkhelper.com/all-streaming-media/record-audio-stream/mp3-audio-stream-rippers-grabbers-Download-live-Icecast-Shoutcast-compatible-radio-stations.html
Or playing with Linux and cronjobs:
