What are the Synology Moments supported photo/ video file formats?

  • The supported image formats are as follows: BMP, JPEG, GIF, RAW (arw, srf, sr2, dcr, k25, kdc, cr2, crw, nef, mrw, ptx, pef, raf, raw, 3fr, erf, mef, mos, orf, rw2, dng), TIFF, PNG
  • The supported video formats for playback are as follows: 3G2, 3GP, ASF, AVI, DAT, DivX, FLV, M4V, MOV, MP4, MPEG, MPG, MTS, M2TS, M2T, QT, WMV, XviD

 

Which Synology NAS models support the image recognition feature on Moments?

Synology Moments is a photo solution for personal and home use, offering an intuitive way to manage all your personal photos captured in everyday life and keeping track of all your special moments in detail. Equipped with the facial and subject recognition features, this personal photo storage makes photo sorting and tagging fast and easy.

Image recognition is only supported on selected models. To know which NAS models support image recognition, please refer to the table below:

  • Synology Moments 1.0.0 can only be installed on Synology products running on DSM 6.1.3 or onward.
  • Before installing Synology Moments 1.0.0, the packages Synology Drive, Universal Search, Synology Application Service, and Node.js v4 must be installed first.
