Upgrading from a WD My Cloud

Should I upgrade from a WD My Cloud to a WD My Cloud EX2 or more?

I currently have a My cloud 2TB single drive personal, and I am wanting to move up to a mirror or raid unit, as it is 3 to 4 years old now. I have a lot of photos and video’s I want keep save off of the main desktop hard drive, plus my daughters stuff enough said:). I have looked at the synology video’s you have which a very well done, and enjoy watching your reviews. I wondering if now is the time to buy the MyCloud EX2 Ultra, or will WD be coming out with a newer model soon, I see the reviews go back to June 2016. any advice would be greatly received.

There is in fact a new version of the WD My Cloud series and it was released a short time ago. The WD My Cloud Home is a vastly improved unit in terms of hardware and software support than the device you have, as well as arriving at a better price point. It is a successor to the WD My Cloud  EX 2 and I would certainly recommend it over it. Here it is below:
