QNAP HS-453DX Silent NAS Dolby Atmos and DTS:X

I have a large collection of movies (MKV) with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X audio. Will I be able to play these files thru to my Receiver which is Atmos and DTS:X capable thru the HDMI, DLNA or Plex? Just want to make sure I can enjoy the audio from the video files. I’m sure video will not be a problem.

QNAP HS-453DX comes with HDMI2.0 with a lot of added support for multi channel audio playback (Or even better – HDMI2.0a with models like tvs-472xt,tvs-672xt,tvs-872xt). During the setup Qnap will recognize that you have connected your receiver over the HDMI. Then you will be able to select how do you want your audio to be streamed. Even older NAS with HDMI1.4 support videos with surround sound.

You can also save some money by getting Nvidia shield TV or something like Zappiti and some cheap NAS like DS418j or Qnap p series. You will store files on the NAS and use shield TV as a brain in the middle which then is connected to your sound system. You get added capabilities like trans coding and other useful features.
