Qnap Ts-453be + Compatible UPS? I’ve been deciding in going to add a solid NAS to my home network and upon spending hours to days to weeks of googling, YouTube for information gathering regards the nasses 😀 checking Amazon and Newegg for the prices, hunting the best deals, now was the time since the holiday is here and I’ve remembered your line where you’re saying not to hassle not to buy a nas when it’s on deal because of 5 bucks, it’s not black friday nor cyber Monday but Newegg sold me on qnap ts-453be for merely 430 USD. I consider that a steal, and didn’t cheap out by waiting longer as this deal $80off ends tomorrow.
-Question is I want to get UPS before I hook it all up if In fact; I won’t get a better NAS deal on actual black Friday or Cyber Monday. I’ve tried compatibility search on qnap’s site but it didn’t match any of my cyber power sine wave or apc brand ups’ for this model. Also, some ups have USB communication? Does that apply to the NAS that I have just gotten? Along with NAS, I will also be booking up to it: a modem, wifi router and a netTalk VOIP dongle, sometimes I get power outtage that take up to 2 hours to get back on (rare but it happens) I wonder how many amp hours /watt unit I keď get for the above-mentioned scenario if you can help me? Regards NAS, for short will be 1x 6TB WD IronWolf w/256mb Cache (not the pro version) but am definitely going to populate all 4 bays; and later add two 8GB modules per your instructions (were there any incident reports with this setup in your experience as of yet?) possibly also finds add pciE with either only 2xM.2 or 10GbE w/2M.2’s. No ext hdd backup though (will be raid 5 on nas, or should I really sacrifice extra hdd for raid 6? I personally don’t want to)
Congratulations on finding this amazing deal. TS-453B is a most popular NAS from Qnap this year. Getting a discount on such item is a luck. I would also set it up with RAID5 to maximize the storage space. I would also add more RAM because I like to play with virtual machines and multiple apps. Also, an M2 + 10GbE card is very useful for video editors, fast backups and data transfer speeds.
I will get those links lined up as Black Friday will not last forever:
