Synology Announce a Thunderbolt DS1817t NAS for 2018

Not too much can be confirmed at this time but Synology have assured us at their live presentation found here that the new Mac and Windows-enabled Thunderbolt NAS will be released worldwide on June 31st 2018. Using a familiar chassis and internal hardware design as the previous 8-Bay Diskstaiton devices, this NAS promises several innovative features that may be new to you or familiar to others.

Featuring dual Thunderbolt™ 3 ports, coupled with M.2 NVMe SSD caching, the Synology DS1817T DiskStation provides an ideal environment for professional collaborative media editing and high-speed file sharing (friends sold separately). The Synology DS1817T features the familiar chassis as the DS1817+ and DS1815+. With powerful hardware capabilities and feature-rich productivity tools, the DS1817T provides the best NAS solution for media studios or small creative workgroups looking to greatly simplify their workflow. Alternatively, for those looking for a more localised storage device, you can use this as a diagonally poised storage space which you place your currently storage device onto to bring closer to your client machine by around 16cm.
