      1. Hi Robbie. Do you have a chat channel on something like discord or telegram?
Anyway, i saw your video about the unofficial ram upgrade. However I’ve seen resorts on reddit that houses were successful but dsm began playing up visually or plex was trying to use more than 8gb, etc and crashed. What’s the deal? Should i adhere to guidelines and add 4gb only?

Also what are your recommendations for ssd cache drives during black Friday please?

      2. I think the best deal for me was the G.Skill Ripjaws 32gb (2 x 16gb) SO-DIMM DDR4 ram at $94.99 (They also had 2 x 32gb). Gonna put that ram in a notebook computer, and use that computers 16gb (2 x 8gb) ram in my NAS.

      3. Interesting deals for german customers could come from Saturn / MediaMarkt who offer the 2TB SSD from Sandisk SanDisk Ultra 3D 2TB for 139.- Euros. Another on and off special price from amazon is the 10Gbe NIC from Asus (Asus XG-C100C 10G) for less than 65 Euros. At the moment its once again at regular price of around 100 Euros but it dipped below the 65 Euros mark at least twice in the past week.

      4. Returns already – ah, the beauty of online, no lines. Yesterday got the DS920+ deal at Newegg $439, a great deal. Didn’t like nas/hd packages so ordered separately. Best was 8TB WD Red Plus at B&H for $155, but back ordered estimating new stock in 2 weeks, when the drive was $205 or higher everywhere else. Competing Seagate Ironwolf was reduced to a great price of $179 at several stores so ordered 2 from Best Buy. Today, Best Buy has the WD Red Plus at $155, I stock both in store and online. Neither of yesterday’s orders have shipped, so guess which one got cancelled.

      5. 1) Overpriced heatsink on SSDs I’d say, real price of this aluminium piece + pill of thermoglue + work is about 1-2 dollar
-this things can be bought/delivered from China easily in quantity you need
-amount bought for this price difference can be attached for ALL your SSDs/other motherboard components in next 50 years
        -gives same result
Yes, it asks couple minutes of your personal time, but you spend it on your system improvement meanwhile learning something new, so I’d say it’s better solution for heatsink.
        2) WD red series used SMR technology on smaller HDDs (less then 8TB) as i heard, so in case if 1 HDD dies (and it will happen if you using SMR and CMR HDDs together) in raid, it can cause problems restoring your raid. Of course it cares you only if you using raids, but as far as i know many NAS owners using it.
Otherwise thanks for spending your time making our life easier, highly appreciate it.

      6. Ive been looking at the Firecuda 530 for a couple months. Just waited for the sku with a heatsync to be more availabl. You mentioned that you use the 530 in your ps5. Thats my case as well. My question is does the firecuda in your ps5 have a first party heatsink or are you possibly using the Sabrent PS5 heatsink? Assuming your Firecuda 530 has No built in heatsync whatsoever. (because the use of the Sabrent PS5 proprietary Design Cover/heatsync)

      7. Hi. Do you think the original heatsink on Kingston FURY Renegade 2TB SSD will be good enought for the PS5? Or do I need to replace it? And are you gonna test the
Kingston FURY Renegade SSD in a PS5? Love your channel!

      8. Hey man I want to buy a NAS for home and to share with family and friends. Is the ds220+ still a good device? Can you give me some advice? I dont want to pay much more than 350€ for the nas itself.

      10. Re Canada: thanks for keeping an eye out.

No one seems to know why Black Friday deals are just not happening here, we got ‘free trade’ with the US and a long list of other countries, we dont have any tariff crap going on, no barriers and taxes arent a thing. Its a quandary.

Actually after seeing this, I found the TL-SG108-M2 switch on Canada Amazon for $249 CDN … not a horrible price and Iv’e been looking for this exact thing
… so your videos still work for us, as it points out hardware we might want.

      11. Great to wake up to this very helpful channel. I also had a lovely Nespresso with me watching this and now I am cheerful for the day. Those 2Tb NVMe SSDs will be something I keep my eyes on (both of them) for BF, CyberMonday and BoxingDay. It is quite nice to see the prices come down. Not so long ago we paid the price of a 2Tb for the 1Tb

      12. WD RED ??
Ahh..did you just get hornswaggled by a Hard Dive with a sexy red sticker and a low price?
It certainly LOOKS like a NAS drive but many reviews say this is actually an SMR drive and not a CMR drive which they say is not what you want to use in a NAS.
I am confused and cautious on this one..
Great Channel, Thanks for making the videos.

      13. Good to know that Canada has absolutely no deals, oh well, luckily I live close to a border with the US. Hopefully we’ll see some nice drops, I am on the lookout for a 2Tb SSD. Thanks for getting me up and going, good morning to you as well.

      14. Has Amazon made any announcement about 20% off on their warehouse deals yet? You mentioned it here and on your site, but no other site is talking about it, and it’s definitely not in effect now. If it were, there’s something I’d scoop up right now in the US.
