NAS 2-Bay for Home/Personal use

NAS 2-Bay for Home/Personal use

I am looking to purchase a NAS device for use as both a home media streaming device and for personal data backup. I want a 2-bay soultion as I prefer the smaller form factor, but I still want it to have the fastest read/write speeds possible. Also, futureproofing for 4K UHD streaming would be a bonus but not a deal breaker. An ethernet port is a must, HDMI connector would be appreciated, as would a USB Type C connection, but a USB 3.0 port would be acceptable.

What you are describing is Qnap TS-253B. It is made with multimedia in mind but also can do so much more. In the future, you may decide to upgrade hard drives and have SSD drives with a 10GbE card. This will improve transfer speeds to 500MB/s or more. Very helpful for video editors or IOPS demanding web services. This NAS features 4K transcoding engine for media playback on mobile devices and remote locations. HDMI will be very handy to stream 4K directly on your 4K TV experiencing outstanding picture quality. It also features Type C USB connection for direct connectivity to your computer for a quick file transfer. Free expansion slot can be used to upgrade this NAS with a USB 3.1 cards for even faster data transfer speeds.
