Sinology DS212j upgrading disk space

At present, I have a Sinology DS212j with 2 1TB hard disks.

I am thinking of upgrading as I am running out of disk space and the DS212J is quite old now.

I mainly use it for storage, remote access to files and as a media server for both music and video, which I stream to a Smart TV and Sonos speakers.

I remotely back up via Hyper Backup.

Next logical step would be getting DS418j or DS418. The j series will just replace what you have and give you more storage space. You can reuse the old drives and add 1 more. RAID5 will automatically give you a capacity of 3TB with only 3 drives used in the NAS. Or 3TB with all 4 drives filled in the NAS. DS418j will allow also HD remote streaming. If you prefer even 4k remote streaming- DS418 is an option.
