DS3617xs MAX RAM upgrade

DS3617xs MAX RAM upgrade
Just sharing… own 2 DS3617xs which state max upgrade is 48GB, I’ve just upgraded to 80GB using 2 32GB modules noted below, I’ve ran the memory test 1 no errors and about to run the second time just to be sure before I buy another set for my second machine, I’ve seen the question asked a lot so figured I’d share that yes this unit will support more than the 48GB, just wanted to add what I found.

A-Tech 32GB DDR4 2666MHz SODIMM PC4-21300 2Rx8 Non-ECC CL19 1.2V 260-Pin SO-DIMM Laptop Notebook Computer RAM Memory Upgrade Module

  1. Anyone already changed the 2x8GB Modules where are inside on the Mainboard?
(see teardown Website from a Chineese guy, there are another 2x8GB Regular Ram Modules inside)
Would like to know how the Sysno reacts replacing this also with 2x32GB Modules 🙂

  2. The. comment above makes no sense for this model, the RS3617xs is DDR3 1600, where as the xs+ is DDR4. So the max RAM comment is incorrect.

    1. poster was commenting on the DS3617xs. Not the RS3617xs. It sure looks like the DS3617xs is DDR4, which is what the poster stated.
