What are the Quietest hard drives (HDD)

Help Us Build a Database of Hard Drive Noise Levels

We are collecting audio recordings of different hard drives to build a comprehensive database of noise levels. If you have a hard drive, weโ€™d love for you to contribute!

Please send us a recording of your hard drive and include the following details:

  • Brand: The manufacturer of your hard drive (e.g., Seagate, Western Digital).
  • Model: The model number of your hard drive (e.g., WD10EZEX).
  • Distance: The distance from the hard drive at which the recording was made (e.g., 10 cm). Booting/ inactive/ active

Your contributions will help create a valuable resource for others to compare hard drive noise levels.
