Synology for large Photography file storage

Hi! I’m a professional photographer. I am willing to buy storage, so I found out NAS. I’d been reading A LOT, I finally found the “best” on sinology DS418J and thanks to your web apparently the best Hard Drives on WD Red drives. I have many questions, but I’ll try to be short. I need to have a lot of storage, maybe a few users, a website on the NAS, and it will be nice to have thunderbolt (missing on the sinology model) try not to spend more than u$u1000.  Which is the best option to buy the NAS and the drives?

DS418j will certainly offer you lots of storage space. It is not the most powerful NAS which could do video transcoding or virtual machines and complicated things like that. But it will certainly be good for data storage. If you can stretch your budget little further I would recommend DS418 which has dual LAN ports if you plan to USE your NAS for hosting your website and you think you will get thousands of people visiting it every day. If not, that DS418j with WD RED drives will be a very good solution. And you will be amazed at functionality Synology software offers.
