TS-253B RAM upgrade to 16GB

I am looking at picking up a TS-253B. I am mainly interested in the ability to run a home NAS, PLEX server, and VM’s simultaneously from the same device. I would like to upgrade the RAM of the 253B to 16GB. However, I have read some forum post that say that this type of processor is unable  to utilize the available RAM.

You will need to look at the CPU specification. TS-253B features Intel® Celeron® J3455 quad-core 1.5 GHz, up to 2.3 GHz processor and 2 x DDR3L SODIMM slots. Max Memory Channels 2 – each supports 8GB.

There are many Synology 16GB upgrades done (also at SPAN) on alternative models featuring very same CPU. Make sure you get correct RAM.
