UPDATE 15/05/2020 DS420+ internal hardware and RAM upgrade
Looks like DSM is not stored on HDD RAID but on dedicated SSD chip. Also bad news. There is no second RAM slot. Which means upgrade will need to be done via single 16GB RAM stick.

First unboxing video goes Live. You can see no eSATA port as DS418play used to have. But you can see those new NVMe slots at the bottom of the NAS speeding things up with SSD caching.

Supported RAM : D4NESO-2666-4GA and M.2 NVMe type SSD for caching.
RAM upgrade seem to be limited to a single stick. And it will be much harder to do unofficial 16GB RAM upgrade. This will require dismantling the the NAS in order to reach the other RAM slot.
UPDATE 01/05/2020 DS420+ Official Pages go LIVE
Along with DS920+, DS220+, DS720+ also DS420+ is now added to official Synology website. Again they highlight the NVMe cache function and CPU turbo boost up to 2.9GHz.
