  1. I think Sony isn’t putting out a list so they won’t so preference to any brands. A lot companies are saying their SSDs are supported by the PS5 but many news outlets keep claiming these ssds, such as the firecuda are officially branded by Sony.

  2. Hey mate. I’ve been watching a lot of your PS5 stuff and I feel like a remember you going over the Viper VP4300 but can’t find it. What is your honest opinion on it for those who can’t fork out or get a firecuda? Thanks

  5. Hey NAS, new to the channel so forgive me if this question has already been answered…if I have a launch ps5 disc edition are the heatsinks more suitable to newer ps5 releases? Only because I’ve heard they changed the size In the newer ones?

Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question I’m pretty new to this topic area in relation to the ps5…

  6. So glad I don’t have a ps5 yet for multiple reasons, 1. The launch model was a prototype. 2. The system will be updated and optimised when I get one. 3. I’ll be able to get ps5 games cheaper.

  7. I purchased a 2tb Samsung 980, as well as a heat sink, 3 months ago, in anticipation.
I’ve had a lot of people make fun of me, but after the abysmal release of the PS5, I wasn’t about to pay $1,000 for an SSD.
Besides that, if Sony had dropped support for certain SSDs, and the Samsung was amongst the ones not supported, I was going to throw it in my editing desktop, which already has a 2tb Samsung 980 as the boot drive.
This is like the night before Christmas! For me anyway… LOL!!!

  8. I bought a Samsung two weeks ago and I’m glad I did because I was not able to get a fire Cuda because the prices have already been dripping up and that was two weeks ago after some videos you have done now the prices are insane

  9. I went with the SN850. I bought it a few weeks ago. I was hoping to be invited to the Beta program so I could jump on board a bit earlier but no such luck. Looking forward to installing it tomorrow!

Side note: I’ve watched most of your videos and it really bugs me the way you pronounce Sabrent ????. Isn’t it pronounced “say-brent”?

  10. Thanks for all the videos during the beta, it’s been a massive help in deciding what SSD to get for my PS5.

I wanted a 2tb but ended up going for the WD SN850 Black 1tb because it was only £130 on Amazon.

Unfortunately I have my SSD in hand but no heatsink yet! ???? Can’t wait to get it installed.

  11. Is the adata s70 blade a good option? Found 1tb for 140$ +tax which is super cheap .. I wondering why.. so,e love it some had dead on arrival or dead a month or 2 later and some not getting advertised speed or close to them I don’t know if it’s adata bait and switch stuff again or other limiting factor but it’s 60$ cheaper the the aorus 7000 … the aorus nvme 4 copper is like 159$ but has read of only 5000 but people supposedly using it and ps5 reading at 5600

  12. Thanks for all the testing and your provided info about the compatible SSD’s.
I bought the WD 850 2TB and am eager to finally installing it tomorrow because I really need more internal storage.
Ps,maybe Sony will provide a official compatible SSD list when the firmware goes live?

  14. Great content.
FireCuda 530 2TB no doubt. Bossing the reviews. Costs a bit more but will last the test of time. Ekwb version though need to wait on my pre-order. Super excited….for storage how times have changed.

  15. Sooo quick question Nas. I recently got the Seagate Firecuda 350 1T and used the MHQJRH heatsink. Well….the 2T became available yesterday and I’ve been using the 1T for the past week. Is it okay to just switch the heatsink (with the thermal pads) onto the 2T now or just buy a whole new heatsink or thermal pads for the 2T? It seems to me like it would be fine to switch it but I wanted to ask a pro like yourself lol.

  16. Useful vid as always! I got the beta program email so have been using a 1tb Firecuda 530 W/ heat sink for a few days. Storage was definitely needed so glad it will be unlocked for everyone!

  17. I’ve had good luck with Samsung storage products in the past so I went with the 1TB 980 Pro for my PC, and it works well. I recently bought the 1TB Gigabyte Aorus NVME for my PS5 since it included the heatsink for $200. Thank you for testing out multiple drives. Great content as always!

  18. Thanks for all the work! You’ve really cleared up a lot of the confusion with this stuff and to be honest the fact you have to go through and find the compatibility instead of them is puzzling. Thanks nonetheless.

  19. Thanks for the hard work man can’t wait for the update to be out and I end up settling on the Viper VP3400 for its 7400 mb/s reads and 6800 mb/s write can’t wait to see how it performs in my PlayStation 5

  20. I’ve watched all your PS5 SSD videos since you started doing them. Your videos really helped me learn which SSD’s worked best with the PS5. Using your information and benchmarks I settled on the WD SN850. Thanks again you’re da bomb!

  21. I had just ordered an SSD and a heat sink and a few minutes later I saw the notification that the update was coming out tomorrow! I thought I should order a WD SN850 2TB before the update was officially released and they all went out of stock. I guess I just made it.

  23. Glad I ordered my WD SN850 and heat sink before I even had a system. Seems most stores are sold out in the US. Got my system last week and I’m ready to go. Thanks for all the valuable info, whenever someone asked me about SSD for PS5 I always forwarded them to you.

  26. Sony won’t do an official list. There is no upside for them to do so, and plenty of potential downside when something they “approve” doesn’t work perfectly, or when somebody not on the list attacks them or even sues them.
