Need Synology NAS Recommendation for 4K

I have a 212j right now 2T raid 1 and I’m running out of space. Filling it up with 4k home video. I’d like to stream these Mp4 files to apple tv and xbox one s, pc, over the LAN without issues.

I’m also kind of interested in streaming 60 FPS that my iPhone is shooting someday.

What would be the best sinology NAS to update to? I was thinking maybe 218+? I saw it only did 30 FPS.

A 2-bay NAS would be fine. Any thoughts on the best candidates?

The DS218+ will be a very good choice for 4K streaming and also transcoding. The 30FPS number might be a confusion. This is a transcoding framerate limit for this model. It does not apply in the streaming situation. If you do want remote streaming while away from the home and most of the video will be 60FPS then you can consider Realtek based Synology. The DS218 and DS218play feature 60FPS video transcoding engine.  In reality, you will find 60FPS only on some iPhone slow motion videos- not very common. The DS218+ will allow more simultaneous streams compared with other NAS models. Also, DS218+ will support both – h264 and h265 encoding formats.
