Mixing ECC with none ECC Ram DS3617xs+

I have a DS3617xs+ Nas, Can I mix the RAM ECC with none ECC? The one that comes with the unit has 16CC Ram if I buy the none 32gig ECC ram recommended on this site, will it work my mixing both rams?

When adding new memory, you should match what memory you already have in your NAS. Adding non-ECC memory to an ECC system will disable the error-checking and correcting ability of your memory modules. Your NAS will still operate, but the enhanced features of the ECC modules will no longer be functioning as it supposed to.
