Rackmount NAS with 12 bays, SHR, 10GBE, at least 32GB RAM

I’m looking to upgrade my existing RS815+ and RX415. I’ve run out of space/drive bays and feel I could use some extra RAM and horsepower.

I was about to pull the trigger on RS3617xs+ but what I’m understanding is that unit doesn’t support SHR which is a must for me.

Can you recommend another Synology box that supports 12 bays, SHR, 10GBE, at least 32GB RAM and a good proc?

There are two options for you – RS1219+ and RS2418+. Both can be upgraded to 10GbE ethernet and 32GB RAM (RS1219+ with unofficial RAM). Bot of these will also support SHR which is an important factor for you. With SHR you can mix different size drives and also seem to be faster than regular RAID types.

RS1219+ is an 8 bay NAS which can be expanded up to 12 drives. RS2418+ is a 12bay NAS with expandability up to 24 drives.
