Can I run iPTV off a NAS

I would like to know a few things.

a) which NAS for using multimedia streamer and home/office backup from 2 people (iPhones, iPad, Mac and a windows laptop) in RAID configuration. Plus I would like to use it as a network server to access files etc from anywhere.
b) can I run iPTV off a NAS or would I need a separate thing like a NVidia Shield?

Ideally, DS418play would be a great choice, and DS418 would be a budget 4 bay option. You can use either of these to backup your computer and mobile devices. Files will then be automatically organized and ready for access from anywhere you are. You can share files or even folders with your friends and colleagues and even set the user rights of what is allowed and what is not.

You can run IP TV on the NAS many different ways. You can do it with Plex plugin or DS Video app and HDHomeRun Device, TV Mosaic app or KODI (requires Qnap with HDMI like TS-453Be).
