QNAP 731 with surveillance HDD’s. Useing NAS for Using and Surveillance in HOME USE.
I’m looking to populate the Qnap TVS-731 with HDD’s and would like to know would it be okay to use a combo of two surveillance drives and two NAS HDD’s in two different storage pools? Or would four NAS drived be okay?
Both options are correct. The NAS drives are made for universal purpose with higher reliability in mind. NAS filled with these drives will do NAS functions as well as surveillance and other functions.
People do prefer sometimes having two volumes. One with NAS drives and other with Surveillance drives. It will work. The only concern is lost potential storage space because of two RAIDs instead of one.
