Latest 2-bay Synology NAS 2018

Synology NAS 2019 update vs 2018. I am looking to by a Synology NAS, maybe the Synology NAS DS218 or DS218+.
I look at the new 2019 model but I don’t know
If this line (DS218 or DS 218+) will be updated in 2019 version.
Do you know if I need to wait later or I can buy the 2018 version because those line will not be update this year (2019). ?

My usage:
2 baie, backup photos and personal files, backup movie. I will use a separate device to create a
Plex server (Nvidia shield).
It’s my first NAS so I am not an expert and I don’t
Know all the possibility but I need something I can keep for a long time and something fast.   250 us$

It will be impossible to get the latest NAS because in every quarter Synology releases something new. But with these two NAS, you should be assured that they will not be replaced at least until the end of the next year. The plus series usually are released every 2 years. There might be DS219 (none plus), but cannot be guaranteed, because there are quite a few others NASes waiting to be replaced. If you plan to use Nvidia Shield TV as a Plex server, I would recommend getting simple DS218 or even DS218play. It can be connected to your shield tv as a movie source. The all heavy transcoding will be done on a shield tv. A solution like this will last years to come.
