NAS for 8K video playback

NAS choice. I intend to buy a NAS 8 bays, essentially as mediacenter and to manage my home cinema (projector and 4K TV).

This NAS 8 bays has to be a tower and I want it to be able to :

read 4K, even 8K videos
– to assure conversion of video files
– to manage real time video flows by HDMI resulting from security cameras
– to propose of 10 Gbit/s (presence of ports 10 Gbit/in RJ45 only and not in SFP+)
– to have a RAM exensible
– to support extensions of storage
– to be the most evolutionary possible

For the marks, I do not have rather, I thought of Qnap, Netgear or Asustor for example.

If you plan to convert high-resolution videos I would rather recommend TS-1282 i7, but it will cost around 2K. Full HD video on the fly conversion can be done with TVS-873e. You can decode offline much wider range of video files.

It comes with dual PCIe slots for a 10GbE card and anything else you would like to add. You can increase RAM size as well as add expansion units.

You can use dual HDMI ports to connect to your monitors for surveillance reasons and another one for multimedia purposes using remote control.
